a paisley top

paisley top2
I’ve had this fabric for a couple of years.  I bought it at JoAnn on clearance with intentions of making it into a skirt one day.  IMG_7650That never happened.  So instead, the other day I folded it in half and threw it on my new-old dress form that is too big and smells kinda funny and started pinning and playing around

I cut off the selvage edges, took in the sides, made a slouchy neckline, easy dolman-style sleeves, hemmed it up and made an amazing hair bow

Good stuff.

Great little top and interesting hair bow. I think I have some similar fabric in my stash I should whip it up into a top soon.

Reminds me of a scarf-type top I saw in the Talbots catalog today. Very hip, very cute. Now to find fabric or scarves...
