charity always rocketh

I’ve wanted to make some ties out of this Riley Blake All Star Stripes for a while.  The stripes are printed on the bias, which means you can get quite a few ties out of little yardage.  I made six out of 1.5 yards, plus the lining, with left over for more if the need arises.  I modified Puking Pastilles’ Men’s Tie Pattern to work for my much smaller men.  And I think my kids pretty much rock the look.


So why did I make six matching ties when I only have three boys?  The other three are going to be auctioned off at Team Chase, January 29th through February 5th.  The proceeds of the auction will go towards the $30,000 needed to fund the Chase family’s adoption of a sibling set from Ethiopia.
