First of all, thank you to Ashley at Lil Blue Boo for yet another awesome Dharma Trading Challenge. It was the Great Knit Upcycle and I entered my Little Boy Boxer Briefs made from old tees.
I was honored to be one of the finalists, but due to Ashley wanting things to be anonymous, never mentioned it here. I didn’t want that to be construed as me not being appreciative to Ashley, Dharma Trading, or any of the awesome judges, so here is my thank you: Thank you so much! And congratulations to the winners. Check them out here. Super cute stuff!
Okay, let’s talk assignments. Here is what I was actually working on getting from my brain into real life for my little niece:
I decided, all unilaterally and stuff, to make it this past lessons’ assignment, too. But in case you think I was cheating, I actually did make two slightly different jackets. The first was just practice: a too-big, but usable version, which my son didn’t really appreciate

So I gave it to Christie’s sweet little Miss B, who wears it much better anyway. I used the attaching collar with a full facing on it.
The actual jacket for the birthday girl was completed literally hours before the party. I ditched the facings entirely this time, in favor having it fully lined.
And I have to say, I’m pretty darned happy with it.
We tried to get pictures at the party, but the model just wasn’t having it
I’m guessing in part because she really wanted to wear this ridiculously adorable shrug my other sister knit her

I mean really!

But her mother did get a few shots of her later for me
They’re not going to be perfect, but if you want them, I’ll have the jacket and beret pattern PDFs and tutorials up in the next couple of days. Thanks to my not bothering to get measurements from an actual one-year old, I even have two sizes: 1T and 2T. Again, not perfect, because I made them, but they’re free so maybe you can make them work for you. Or at least laugh at my attempts at toddler fashion. I’m good either way.

Oh so darling! Clothes and models. I can totally see a cousin resemblance between J and J.
I totally recognized your undies. ;)
And I freaking love the jacket! Why must I have so many boys?!?!?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the jacket--both of them. Bailey likes it much better than Jonas:). Thank you! You are so talented. You did a wonderful job and LOVE the fabric and ric-rac. Everything. You are awesome!
She looks adorable in her jacket and in her little shrug. You did a great job with your design.
oh wow! I can't wait to try I do say TRY to make one. I will be on the look out for the pattern.

Absolutely gorgeous! The red one is too cute - but the print is stunning. I love the little rick rack touch at the waist!
Love it! It turned out so cute. You are truly an inspiration. The picture of J in it cracks me up.
