What a day. I really thought I’d be so much further along with my assignment and everything else on my To-Do list this week. But it just isn’t happening. I can’t get my homemade pattern to do exactly what I want it to, I have an angry toddler who has NO reason to be, we received our first phone call from the school for something other than your-kid-is awesome-and-we-thought-you-should-know reasons, it’s 3:00 and I still have no idea what we’re having for dinner. Definitely one of Those Days.
But I have started my assignment and have hopes of maybe, possibly, by some miracle of the Sewing Gods getting it finished at least by Wednesday. Or not. Who knows.
So, what am I working on?
TA DA!
I first sketched out the shorts on the left right after Dana of Made posted her flat front pocket pants. When I decided last week I needed to practice my fly-front zipper skills (or lack thereof), I changed the idea to incorporate a real zipper, rather than a faux fly look. And guess what? I actually figured out the whole fly front mystery this weekend and installed my first successful one!
Still giddy about that. Unfortunately, my pattern for the rest of the pants ended up a little…off and I had to scrap what I had done and start over today. Which is where I am now: basically nowhere. But at least I’m no longer afraid of fly-front zippers. And at this point today, I’ll take any victory I can get.
